This dramatic Sterling silver pendant has been made by hand in my London studio using etching techniques and the ancient Korean art of fusing 24 carat gold to silver. Then both the chain and the pendant have been oxidised with a black patina to create a dark but vibrant design. The etching was inspired by the Japanese indigo shibori pattern called Arashi meaning storm. I hand painted the lines of stop out with a Japanese brush before etching. When applying the gold foil I chose an abstract pattern which glows on the highlights and the recesses. It hangs elegantly and catches the light.
I post my boxed items in padded envelopes and using a tracing service for peace of mind.
